About Mount Caburn Campsite
Mount Caburn Campsite is a traditional, family-run campsite, located on a quiet working livery and stud farm, situated 4 miles outside of Lewes in the beautiful historic village of Rodmell. Our campsite consists of 8 pitches which are allocated to small tents, large tents, family tents. We are happy to accept small campervans (VW type size – no motorhomes or caravans) but we don’t have any electric hook up available. All our pitches have unrestricted views of Mount Caburn and the South Downs.
Our campsite site is a new rural development and purposefully basic, as we want to provide a real back to basics camping. The emphasis here is on peace and quiet. We want to get campers back to old school camping at its best. We are a small campsite designed for tents and small camper vans only. Sorry, we do not provide electric hook-ups or accept Motorhomes or caravans.

Great Base for Exploring
We’re a great base for exploring the South Downs, historical landmarks, and surrounding towns with their fantastic variety of restaurants, cafes, pubs, attractions to keep you occupied. It is in a perfect location for nature lovers, horse enthusiasts, hikers, and cyclists, or just a quiet family getaway.
All of our pitches are spacious and have wonderful views of the South Downs and we pride ourselves on the laid-back atmosphere allowing campers to relax while enjoying a campfire and admiring the views. On the campsite, you will be tempted to just to get your chair out and sit on the site admiring the idyllic surroundings, but be strong, lace up those boots and get out and explore.
Mount Caburn Campsite Facilities
Our facilities are basic but we do offer a toilet however there are no shower facilities at present (mainly due to Covid-19 infection risk restrictions) but we will return them for the 2021 season.
